Sea breaking
Five screen film and video installation, Falmouth, 2012
Sea breaking explores how temporal experience is influenced when technologies are mixed concurrently. The multi-screen, multi-format installation is disrupted through breaks in the projections on black screens. The sound of five projectors and the shutters which break the beams bring further dislocation and the objects of the projectors in the installation space become another set of cues, mediating each other and the seascape.
This piece, together with Sea c.1897-2011 forms the practice element of Jo’s research. It took place in September 2012 at a light industrial space in Falmouth Wharves.
